steve hart reviewed issue #9 for razorcake, here's what he had to say:

This is the twentieth anniversary of Fluke. That’s a long time to write a zine, so congratulations are in order. There are a couple articles with a couple of the co-founders of Fluke, which started in Little Rock, Arkansas, and they explain the beginning in detail. The interview with Jason White, who currently plays guitar in Green Day, is a really interesting. Mike Scott, of Christ On Parade infamy, contributes a list of tour tips that are often funny and each contain a back story that most bands can relate to. I especially enjoyed an article on a musical play list. A song will come on and the writer tries to write what that song means within the time frame of the song. I thought that this was a good writing exercise, and one I’ll try in the future.

once again, as he has been doing for the past 20+ years, aaron has inspired the hell out of me with his celebrated fanzine, cometbus. this issue, which is about his two-week jaunt with green day in china, left me feeling sad as well. the passage of time, the distance of friends, the mistakes that were made along the way. on the other hand, from aaron's perspective, it was invigorating to get an up-close account on what jason white has been doing for the past 10 years as their touring guitarist. i mean...octopus balls in osaka!? hell yeah, dogtown! to read more about jason and his job with green day, stay tuned for fluke #9, coming out in late spring/early summer.

chino horde bid farewell following their summer '93 six-week tour of the U.S., after which burt took off for kalispell, montana. he holed up in a motel and wrote his first songs for a rock n roll band he wanted to start up. when he got back to little rock some months later, he initiated (the late) shannon yarbrough, josh bentley and colin brooks to form the big cats. jason white now plays in shannon's stead and the big cats are working on a new LP, to come out on burt's max recordings label.

here are those first songs, recorded in little rock in 1994.
