broken pencil #48 has reviewed fluke #8, here's what they had to say:
Fluke seems to be putting out regular issues lately, with a focus on their local indie music scene, interviews, exclusive photography, and on-the-road styled music gig journal entries. I enjoyed the interview about the thriving metal scene in Little Rock and the piece entitled "Lucky Strikes" about a 34-year-old man diagnosed with cancer was sincere and informative. There's also a cool interview with Paige Hearn about skateboarding which touches on the sport's popularity in the 1980s until present. My only criticism is Fluke needs a table of contents as it's sometimes a bit overwhelming to go through the magazine without any references. And the interviews themselves need to be formatted differently to distinguish who is speaking. Though hard to nail down the editorial theme of this particular issue, overall it's another great effort from Arizona-based Fluke. (Nathaniel G. Moore)
